All-purpose spray

An effective way to clean both the wall and floor tiles in your bathroom is to use a specially designed all-purpose cleaner. These types of spray have been created with your tiles in mind and are a perfect concoction of powerful yet gentle ingredients that help give your tiles that superb ‘like new’ sparkle.

Worried about your grouting? There are also specialist cleaning sealants for those hard to reach areas too that help to clean, seal and protect the tiles in your bathroom from mould and discolouring. Starting at under £7 a bottle, everyone can afford to have fantastic tiles in a flash.

At Home Remedies

If you’re really strapped for cash, there are some alternatives to using specialist spray cleaners. These methods might not work as well or last as long as specialist sprays but are great if you want a quick bathroom fix without the cost. A diluted bleach solution and an old toothbrush is a great way to brighten up mouldy or dirty grouting. It’s important to use a mild solution and one part bleach to 4 or 5 parts water is recommended for a gentle scrub.

For porcelain and ceramic tiles, a vinegar and bicarbonate of soda solution can also help to brighten up your tiles. Mix the two together then use a microfiber cloth to gently sweep over tired and dirty areas. This method is not recommended for natural stone tiles, as they require a more sensitive and specialist solution.

Re- Grouting

If your grout is beyond repair and you’ve tried everything you can to get your walls and floors looking like new, you may want to consider re-grouting your bathroom tiles. Re-grouting makes a huge difference to old and tired tiles and is quicker and easier to do then you may think. The price of grout differs depending on your specific needs but can be very reasonable for most tile types.

This job is a relatively easy one but there a few essential tools that you will need before you start. You’ll need a grout scraper to remove old grout from your walls or floor, a grout float to apply the mixture and plastic scrub pad is a smart idea in case of grouting mistakes.

There are so many ways to refresh your bathroom tiles but if you decided enough is enough, there’s always the option to re-tile. Re-tiling can be incredibly cheap and is the ultimate way to breathe new life into an old bathroom.
